Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Holdings, Inc. (President & CEO: Kengo Sakurada; the "Company") will change the company name to Sompo Holdings, Inc. on October 1, 2016.
The Company's new medium-term management plan ending in fiscal 2020 entails a structural shift to a service provider on the themes of "security, health, and wellbeing" and also signals a major change in focus towards establishing a strong competitive position as a global player.
Changing the name of the Company, which is the Group holding company, so that it starts with Sompo, will lead to a recognition of Sompo on a global basis and generate a unified brand image, further establishing the SOMPO brand as one providing the "security, health and wellbeing of customers."
